There are two Processes that can be used cover an existing flat roof – how we do this is described below.
Domestic Flat Roof Refurbishment
Roof Technology advanced products enable your roof to be refurbished whilst leaving your existing roof cover in place (this is referred to as overlaying)
- Saving money on labour and waste.
- Helping the environment by reducing the amount of waste, going to Landfill.
- Reduces the risk of water ingress during installation.
How we do this
Roof Technology use mechanically fixed membranes that will fix into your existing roof deck (once the roof deck has been tested). Metal trims are then fixed to the roof perimeters. The membrane is the welded in place with hot air at 400/500 Degrees, to ensure water tightness.
The Pull-Out Test, Process
First we carry out a ‘Pull Out Test’ to determine the quality of the roof deck. Screws are put into the roof at various points. A pressure gauge is then used to pull the screw out of the deck. This will tell us if your roof deck is in good enough condition be overlaid. Once the test has been carried out, we will then fit temporary flashings to your roof to ensure that it is water tight, until we are able to come and lay our roof cover over the existing
